My circumcision style is a result of a compromise. Considering how much trouble I had with it at one point, it almost feels like the story of the ugly duckling that turns out to be a swan at the end.

I don't understand how can people get an M.D. degree when they are incapable of performing a circumcision. Even in some places in Africa an illiterate circumciser is put to death on the spot if he maims the initiate during the procedure.
One would expect higher standards from the medical profession in a first world country, but apparently being more competent than an illiterate bush surgeon is too much to ask.

What sort of 3rd world country is Georgia, USA that midwives perform circumcisions.

Circumcision as a Sign of Adulthood

Probably half of the circumcision debate would not exist if Americans did not insist that one must be cut as a newborn.

I think Africans have the right idea: You signal that you are no longer some teenage hoodlum and ready to be regarded as a responsible adult by accepting circumcision – which also permanently carves the sign of your new status in your flesh.

Of course it would be interesting if one had to prove his circumcision status just to buy beer.

Whose Consent?

I am not sure that I understand the law correctly. But it seems that in the US until you turn 18 it is up to your parents to decide if you should be circumcised.

I have found this on tumblr. While I do not believe that happiness can be achieved by forcing your opinion on someone who does not want it, I do like his argument how circumcision improves a person's body -- that is what I am trying to say on this blog.

Beautiful Cut

I liked this passage:

Nature intended the penis for fast and efficient reproduction, but nowadays sex is practiced for fun.The main purpose of the foreskin was to make men ejaculate quickly, while pleasure was only secondary to make them breed. Circumcision basically IS a refinement for the penis whereby it’s adapted to the civilized lifestyle and to put pleasure in the foreground.

Curiosity: The First Cut

For me it is hard to imagine how can anyone grow up and go to college without realizing that he is circumcised. How can one go through a school system without ever learning anything about basic human biology.
