Whose Consent?

I am not sure that I understand the law correctly. But it seems that in the US until you turn 18 it is up to your parents to decide if you should be circumcised.

I.e.: Technically a day before your 18th birthday your parent can still drag you to a doctor and force you to get cut whether you want it or not.
On the other hand people are allowed to have sex at an earlier age.
So what happens if you get a girl pregnant when you are only 16?
When the baby is born you will still be only 17. Technically you are not allowed to make decisions about your own circumcision (because you are still an immature minor).
But what if the baby is a boy? Are you, as his parent, allowed to make decisions to circumcise him (since you have a history of demonstrating such a good judgement by having unprotected sex at 16)?
Is reality really as bizarre as this sounds?
Note: I have used the US in this example because the issue is simply more likely to come up there. But of course the same question applies to other jurisdictions where the age of consent for surgery is higher than the age of consent for sex.
