Circumcision supposed to be a personal matter.
It has health and other benefits but they are mostly limited to the owner of the penis and his sex partners.
Yet, there are intactivists who wish to ban circumcision, and there are crusaders for mandatory universal circumcision.
What I don’t get is that people have nothing better to do than constantly obsess about what other men do with their penises and/or with their sons’ penises.
If someone asks a question about circumcision usually there is choir telling him that it is the most idiotic thing to do, he is going to regret it, etc.
The situation is even worse when someone is seeking circumcision advice for his son. While I am all for personal choice, there could be plenty of reasons why someone makes a decision to circumcise their offspring, and calling them names is unlikely to change their opinion. And why do you have the arrogance to assume that your opinion serves the child’s interest better than his parents’?
I don’t really understand people who want to make circumcision mandatory either, since it is not really your place to decide what others can or cannot do with their (and their sons’) penises.
Health benefits or not, currently the world’s grown male population is split 70:30 in favor of the the uncut version.
So apparently both versions are fairly common and neither one causes entire populations to die out from the lack of sex. There is no universal truth here that should be forced on everyone “for the greater good”.
I just can’t imagine why do people sit on the Internet all day just to dish out personal abuse to random strangers who happen to have a different opinion about their bodies.
Why on earth does either side think it is their business to tell other people what to do with their genitals?
